A Blue Perspective: Musical baton

You know the great thing about a meme? It saves you from having to actually think up an idea to write about. So thanks to Hans Hyttinen for passing me the musical baton ...

Total volume of music files on my computer:

10.1 GB of MP3s, 10MB of Cubase arrangements.

The last CD I bought was:

Jeeze, who buys CDs? The last piece of vinyl I bought was Mannel - Cruel Summer.

Song playing right now:

Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet with Butterfly Wings

Five songs I listen to a lot/mean a lot to me:

  • Ben Folds Five - Brick: A song that you love at first because its beautiful, then hate because its popular, then love because its beautiful.
  • Hybrid - Finished Symphony: Who said strings and big beats have to be cheesy? The Russian Federal Orchestra hit the dancefloor.
  • LTJ Bukem - Horizons: Where jazz meets drum and bass.
  • The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five: A jazz cliche? Maybe, but that doesn't make it bad.
  • Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name: Sometimes you just gotta rock!

Five people to whom I am passing the baton:

Keeping it an all Aussie geek affair ...

  • Matty McG (I heard the latest IBM robots have in-built music appreciation chips.)
  • David McDonald (I want to know what newlyweds listen to. Jessica Simpson, I bet.)
  • Dez (If only so he can let people know he's alive.)
  • John Allsopp (Who knows what music drives this madness?)
  • Dan Webb (He's an honorary Australian after spending three months in Melbourne.)

I have to say that I've read about a half dozen of these online and your list is the first one where I recognized at least one of the artists listed.  There is definitely a variety of tastes among developers/designers.

People love throwing in obscure songs/groups, because that proves they've got cool taste in music :0]

I feel like I'm some kind of stalker... every time I check my frequently-read list of blogs this meme has appeared somewhere else, and gets passed to another person whose blog I read. It's like watching some kind of web-designer infection spreading around the globe.

I was gutted that I didn't have enough room to include Brick (amongst many others) in my list -- it is one of those really beautiful peices of music... I'd rate it alongside Lamb's Goreki (which did make it).

Aye..! "Hybrid - Finished Symphony" got me into Hybrid in a big way. In retrospect it was probably the reason I bought my PS2 and consequently SSX back in the day. ;) You might enjoy Way Out West, via the link above.

On a list of people doing dumb things simply to prove they can, we submit Keith Levasseur, who this weekend broke the Guinness world record for fastest marathon run in flip-flops when he finished Saturdays Baltimore race in an impressive-in-normal-shoes time of 2 hours, 46 minutes.
I knew it was all about maintaining a very efficient and balanced stride, Levasseur told RunnersWorld.com. There were times when my feet and ankles would get tired from maintaining a more rigid stride than I might <a href="http://findairjordanshoes.webs.com/">nike free run 2</a> otherwise have and I would start landing more on the outside of the my foot and cause my heel to slip off the sandalthey never fell off.
Levasseur, who said he was called crazy throughout the day but didn t mention how the repetitive sound the shoe is named for numbed his mind to pain and emotion, only complained that the tight straps of the sandals essentially rubbed the skin way off the top of his foot and that his ankles, quadriceps, and balls of his feet were more sore than normal because of his altered running style.
We re not suggesting this become an Olympic sport and our lawyers are specifically suggesting you don t try this at home, but the feat is admittedly as remarkable as it is silly, especially given a terrain that included cobble stones and the fact he ran upwards of 14 miles in the shoes to prepare for the race.
So would he ever do it again? My answer has been a resounding no, Levasseur admitted. If someone breaks the record, I will simply congratulate them. Okay, so maybe not so dumb after all.

<p>When people dish out date requests to athletes such as Ricky Rubio or Tim Tebow over the Internet, they often turn up <a href="http://cheapjerseys2013.page4.me/">cheap jerseys free shipping</a> fruitless. But that wasn't the case when Ohio teen Joyce Grendel through Twitter, no <a href="http://cheapjerseyssite.weebly.com/">nike nfl jerseys</a> less managed to get Browns cornerback Joe Haden to take her to <a href="http://wholesalejerseysstore.weebly.com/">wholesale jerseys</a> her senior prom on Friday.</p>
<p>At the end of the day, I think Bryant is the one who benefits from Ireland's poor judgment. He is receiving sympathetic media coverage because of this situation, and he was also the Dallas Cowboys' first round draft pick. Just a hint of advice Mr. Ireland don't ever say anything bad about anyone's mama. </p>

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple Wordpress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. <a href="http://www.SeoOptimizedRankings.com">Seo Plugin</a>
