A Blue Perspective: WSG Talk: Jumping on the AJAX Bandwagon

I gave a talk to the Melbourne chapter of the Web Standards Group recently, and they secretly bugged the room and managed to get a podcast out of it. If you'd like something to make those long train journeys shorter (by sending you off to the Land of Nod), feel free to eat up WSG's bandwith here (12MB MP3).

My shirt collar had a little trouble hanging onto the microphone, so there's a couple of sound-outs, but it's still listenable.

The presentation was a brief overview of AJAX technology, its uses, advantages, disadvantages, development frameworks, and where it's headed. As per usual, most of my humour is visual, and I demonstrated quite a few online examples, so you won't get get the whole experience just out of listening. You can try and follow along on the powerpoint slides for the presentation (1.6MB PPT), or you can just imagine me doing the moonwalk for 50 minutes.

Truly SVBaH/J/X is the end-to-end solution for the modern Enterprise.
You've unearthed something huge here, Cam...

Any chance we're going to see a central top-score board for BunnyHunt? Add an IP-to-Country lookup to each score on the board, map it to one of those maps.*.com sites and it'll be like, totally Web2.0mfg! That's be so cool, we'd all del.icio.golia it and stuff ;D
